I had the good fortune to be included in the mail/art/book exhibition curated by Jennie Hinchfield and John Held, Jr. It was part of the Ex Postal Facto Conference held in February this year. It was on view at the San Francisco Center for the Book, San Francisco, CA. The exhibition was open from February 14-April 27, 2014.
The book that I submitted, Official Mail Art, was a collaboration with Jon Foster of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA. Jon and I met through IUOMA, an international, online mail-art community. The book’s six pages (postcards) were created by Jon and sent to me in 2013. I arranged the postcards and bound them using a variation of the Japanese side-bound format. Jon's technique for creating the imagery involves the use of clear packaging tape. The same tape was used to create the collages on the covers to add continuity to the design.
