This piece was created using the clayprint monotype process. The plate is a slab of clay and clay slips are used to add the color. Brushes, stencils and other mark-making techniques are used to form the image. It is printed by laying a special polyester fabric over the damp clay markings and using a roller to transfer the image to the fabric. I learned about the process from Martha Castillo.
